Mac app · Free public beta · Claude first

Never lose an AI conversation again.

MyAIBackup keeps an exact, automatic copy of everything you do with Claude: chats, projects, Claude Code sessions and designs. It runs quietly on your Mac, and when you switch accounts it moves your history for you.

Your AI history is more fragile than you think

Claude Code deletes old sessions

By default, Claude Code removes conversations older than 30 days. The prompts, the reasoning and the commands that got you there are gone.

Switching accounts leaves it all behind

Chats, projects, scheduled routines and designs stay locked in the old account. There's no built-in way to move them to another account.

Exports miss things

The official data export doesn't include your Claude Code sessions or your design files, and it's a one-time snapshot you have to request and unpack yourself.

How it works

Install once. After that, it keeps working on its own.

  1. 1

    Install the Mac app

It lives in your menu bar and starts when you log in. Your Claude Code history is backed up right away.

  2. 2

    Connect claude.ai once

Sign in on Claude's own page inside the app, so it can also copy your web and phone chats, projects and designs.

  3. 3

    Forget about it

New Claude Code work is copied within a minute, claude.ai every 15 minutes. Nothing is ever overwritten.

  4. 4

Use it when you need it

Read and continue old chats, check your backup, or move everything to a new Claude account.

Two places your history can live

Free

On your Mac

An exact copy of your Claude history, kept in a folder on your own computer. Nothing leaves your Mac. If an original is deleted, your copy stays.

Personal and Pro · beta

In the cloud, encrypted

An encrypted copy online, so a lost or broken Mac doesn't mean a lost history. It's locked on your Mac with a key only you have. We store it, but we can't read it.

What's ready today

This is a beta. Here's the honest picture. See every detail →

Ready works and is tested · Beta works, still being tested on more accounts · Coming soon not in the app yet

Private by default

Stays on your Mac

Your backup is a folder on your own computer. Nothing is uploaded unless you turn on cloud backup.

Never altered

Originals are only read, never changed. Each file is checked against its fingerprint when it's read back, so you know your copy is intact.

We never see your password

You sign in to Claude on Claude's own page, and to your MyAIBackup account with Google. We only receive your email address.

Questions

Is it free?

The Mac app and your backup on your Mac are free during the beta. Cloud backup will be part of the paid Personal and Pro plans. Prices will be announced before they open.

Do I need an account?

No. Backup on your Mac works without signing in to anything. You only need a MyAIBackup account (sign in with Google) for cloud backup and to see your connected Macs.

Where is my backup stored?

In ~/Library/Application Support/MyAIBackup on your Mac. Click Open backup folder in the app to see it. Please don't edit the files inside.

Can you read my conversations?

No. Your backup on your Mac never leaves it. Cloud copies are encrypted on your Mac before upload, with a key we never have.

Will it slow down my Mac?

No. It only copies what changed. After the first copy, a check usually takes a fraction of a second.

Why does macOS warn me when I open it?

The beta isn't signed by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first time. The download page shows the two clicks it takes. A signed version is on the way.

Is this an official Anthropic product?

No. MyAIBackup is an independent tool and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic. Claude is a trademark of Anthropic.

Windows or Linux?

Mac only for now. Leave your email below and we'll tell you when other platforms are ready.

Keep every conversation. Take it anywhere.
